The Impact of Socialization on Identity :

1. Family as the Foundation of Identity Formation:

Family is the first one that introduces socialization to the child in the initial years, which shapes their beliefs, values, and behaviors. Also family is the one who first creates a sense of attachment with a person which influences a person's self-esteem and his self-worth.

The family of a person gives the person traditions, language, and religion and gives them a cultural identity. Also in a family, the sibling's order also influences the character development of a person.
Parenting styles, such as authoritative or permissive can shape a child's identity.

The role of the person in a family greatly influences the person's identity development, for example, the role of the eldest child in the family.

2. Peer Groups: The Crucible of Identity :

It is an old saying that peer groups are the reflecting mirrors of your personality. Peer groups help individuals to understand their own personalities and behaviors.
Adolescence is a pivot stage in the life of a person where he forms his identity and in this stage the interaction with peer groups or friends highly influence the identity of the person. Yonger minds are very eager to find their place in larger societal mosaic.

3. Media's Profound Influence on Identity:

Media is present in many formats and influences the identity of the person in many different aspects. Television, movies, social media, and advertising all contribute to how people look at themselves.
Media shows perfect images and ideas like beauty, success, and complicated human relationships. Media shares info and changes how people think about what's normal and important in their culture. Social media lets people make their own online selves, and this makes media even stronger in the digital time.
Media often repeats simple ideas about people, and some folks believe them, affecting how they feel about themselves.

4. The Influence of Socialization on the Formation of Gender Identity:

Society makes people think about boys and girls when they are very little. Boys and girls learn how to be like boys or girls when they are growing up. People around them, like family, friends, and TV, help them learn. When kids grow up more, friends become very important. They teach kids more about being boys or girls. Teenagers try to be themselves but also fit in with their friends. Sometimes, TV and stuff make them think in a certain way about boys and girls.

  2. Definitely agreeing with the media part. It is true that you can have a different identity on the internet. I know people who remain introverted on social media, but are actually very interactive in reality. Based on my profile, some people think that I think about gym the entire day. But in reality, it's just a part of my day, other times I am gaming, coding, socialising, etc.
